The TRUTH about the rosary, 1

http://www.bible.ca/cath-overview-false-teaching.htm <- Taken from this website

Praying repetitive words using Rosary beads is forbidden.
FACT: Catholics pray repetitive words with Rosary Beads that were first invented in 1090 AD, by "Peter the Hermit" and made popular by St. Dominic in 1208 AD. Catholics believe that Mary appeared to St. Dominic in 1208 AD, at the church of Prouille and revealed the Rosary Beads to him. From this time, Catholics prayed 15 sets of 10 consecutive "hail Marys" in a row (150 times), in the Rosary. However, in 2003 AD, Pope John Paul added a new set of Mysteries, so now it is 20 sets of 10 "Hail Marys", (200 times in the Rosary, in total.) Catholics will vainly appeal to Psalm 136 that alternates the same phrase 26 times with 26 different blessings God gives us. It is not 26 in a row as with the rosary! This is also a song, not a prayer. Revelation 4:8 has "angels singing" not "men praying".

Historical note: Roman Catholics borrowed the idea of praying with beads from the pagan religions who were already using them hundreds of years before: In 456 AD, Hindus are thought to have introduced the concept of praying with beads to the world. The earliest reference to a rosary (boberkhas) is in their "Jain Canon" (456 AD) These boberkhas had various numbers of beads 6,9,12,18,36 (any sub-multiple of 108) Islam (610 AD) uses a rosary of 99 beads, one for each of the names of God. Buddhists have 108 prayer beads on the string. The Rosary is of pagan origin and no Christian prior to 1000 AD used beads to pray.Question #1: Did Jesus forbid repetitive prayer using Rosary Beads?
Answer: Matthew 6:7 o YES NO o
"And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. Matthew 6:7

  1. In reviewing some of the messages that was delivered, at Fatima, “Our Lady” pleads for everyone to pray the Rosary, repetitious prayers, which is not a Christian message.
Incidentally, the Rosary consists of 53 Hail Mary’s (Mary Psalter) and only 6 of The Lord’s Prayer (Paternoster). I find that interesting since “The Lord’s Prayer” was introduced in the New Testament, not by men, but by Jesus himself. Therefore it should take precedence over any other prayer. It is even referenced as far back as the Old Testament in 1 Chronicles, better known as the “Prayer of Jabez.”
“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “"Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory; that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil." 1 Chronicles 4:10
After the prayer was completed, scripture makes the following claim.
“And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10

As for the “Hail Mary”, it is divided into two parts.
    The first part is scriptural.
“Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with you” (Luke 1:28)
“Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus” (Luke 1:42)

    The second part is not.
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen”

In the “Hail Mary” Jesus’ mother is referred to as the “Mother of God.” To support that belief, the Ecumenical Council of Ephesus declared Mary the Mother of God in 431AD. (Incidentally, Ephesus was the center of worship to Artemis.)
“But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:30
Mary found favor with God. Scripture goes on to say that she will give birth to a son and he will be called the “Son of the Most High.” Mary is not the “Mother of God.” She is the mother of Jesus, “Son of the Most High.” In fact, she even acknowledged that she was a mere servant to the Father and submitted to his will.
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Luke 1:38
As the Son of Man, there are many references where Jesus speaks directly to his Father, who is in heaven, not to mention the passage concerning John the Baptist’s encounter with God, the Father, when Jesus was baptized.
“As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
    Matthew 3:16

“Jesus therefore said to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
    John 20:21

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
    Luke 22:42

In addition, there is also a reference made by Jesus himself that confirms his divinity and that he existed even before Abraham was born. The following scriptural passages confirm that Jesus existed long before Mary was even born and that God has no mother. He is without beginning or end. It is clearly spelled out in scripture.

“I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “Before Abraham was born, I am!”
    John 8:58

Satan knows that he can’t pass himself off as the “Creator, God the Father”. This is just another attempt by Satan to be elevated above God. Satan deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden and is still attempting to deceive us today. Mary is the mother of Jesus, the Son of God. Although Jesus is both human and divine, Mary is merely human.

  3. Yes, the Scriptures warn us from using "meaningless repetition". However, the purpose of meditating on the life of Christ using the Rosary is not "meaningless repetition". It is a wellspring of life when one prays the Rosary and truly reflects and meditates on the sacred mysteries of the life of Christ. Reflecting on the Scriptures using the devotion of the Rosary is a tool to draw more deeply into our relationship with Christ. Now, if that is what you are criticizing then I'm completely guilty.

    1. but then no where does it say mary ascended into heaven and became the queen of heaven. Infact in the book of Jeremiah is speaks of the queen of heaven. It is a pagan goddess worship. So we pretty much have the catholic church masking this same worship using the name Mary. mixing truth with many lies therefore decieving the masses to hell. Jesus said he alone is the way no other is a mediator and only those who are alive are interceeders.

  6. I left the Catholic church back in May. It was like God opened my eyes to all the false doctrine. If you read, Jeremiah 7:18, it talks about.....and the women bake cakes for the queen of heaven. The queen of heaven is nothing more than a goddess, a demon. The Catholic church looks at mary as the , Queen of heaven. Very frightening indeed. I believe Catholicism mary is fake. Praying to her in no where in Scripture. No where in Scripture does it say she is the mother of God. She was the mother of Jesus in His human form but not mother of Jesus.....as God. The Rosary is a waste of time. God will not share his glory with anyone, Isaiah 48.....especially with fake mary.

    2. The unbeleivers doesn't recognize our mother Virgin Mary as mother of god, trully she is. Jesus himself revealed that he is the father, in BK.of John 10.29-30 says, the father for what he has given me, is greater than anyone, and no one can steal anything from the fathers hand. The father and I are one. In 14.7 - 9 if you know me, you will know the father too. From this moment you know him and have seen him. And Philip said Lord show us the father and the we will be satisfied. Jesus said to him, I have been with you all this time Philip and still you don't know me? Please just ask God for forgiveness else you wil be like the jews who crusified Jesus. Do not pretend you love child while you hate the parent. Please repent.

    4. Also don't forget God is a jealous God, He says you shall have no other God and God wants us to pray to him suplacate in prayer in the name of his only son Jesus name. (also not used in this religion but I'm throwing it on out there speaking in tongue was used for one purpose only it was used so that everyone that was there at that time could understand and translate the holy scriptures word for word in their own dialect after the speaking in tongue serves it's one and only purpose it was done away with. religions that are using that today say that they're filled with the holy spirit actually it's the opposite evil, demonic spirits!)

  7. Only God can show Catholics the light. What you can do for Catholics is to preach the ACTUAL GOSPEL AND THE SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS and pray for them.

  11. jesus gave us the lords prayer. should we keep on changing it? i think we should understand the bible well before we evoke venom from our heart. everything we do is repeatation even reading the bible it means you are not suppose to repeat the verse for deeper understanding. let us have spiritual objectivity in what we say. if it is not done the way you want then do it as you like . we in catholic dont force relions to do what we do. pliz follow your salvation line and never judge anyone

  12. pagans do pray to who and for what? Every scripture has a meaning and an objective to accomplish so if you read the bible know that the satan is around you and also reading the same. due to our little faith we do fall in this trap. he always quickly changes the meaning of what you have read and plants confusion in you. Some people do read the bible but never understand what the intension of the word was. In the christianity world we dont have funs but do have players.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy Name,
    thy kingdom come,
    thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those
    who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.

    For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
    for ever and ever. Amen

I will repeat this prayer even 100000000000 times

    1. I believe they are meaning "consecutive" repetition. If my church expected me to pray the Lord's Prayer 10 times in a row, then I would have a problem with that being repetitive words. ;)

  15. in school one technic a teacher does for a children "to learn" is constant repitition....my personal thoughts...the purpose of repitition is to learn and maintain in mind...because humans naturally "forgets" and have tendencies to do away with what they are suppose to do...so like children in school, perhaps in layer mature times...no need to repeat...in short repitions are needed by stubborn heads and fir those who forgot....

  16. Do more research it never started as 10 hail Mary's it started as 150 psalms not everyone could read so you could do 150** our fathers ** this is why we still use this prayer when the crusades where going on the dedicated the prayer to Mary and did hail Mary's instead and won the battle it became a tradishion to use the hailmary not just that but it also makes up for the 150 prayers now with each mystery there is 200 a rosary can be used any way u desire if u use it properly its a meer rope with no meaning but to know what prayer you are on if u want to do hail mary so be it if u want to do glory be or our father or oh my Jesus prayer sp be it there is no right or wrong if u decide to do a different prayer on each bead so be it no one is saying it is right or wrong u can use it any way u want so look a little deeper defore you decide to decive the minds of the week thats the problem with protestant you only think one way there is no room for compromise no room for research no room to actually talk to a priest and just ask why where when who and how did this come about u will be in my prayers God bless

  18. EVERYONES OBSERVATIONS ARE CORRECT AS LONG AS IT SERVES THE PURPOSE. THERE IS NO RIGHT WAY AND WRONG WAY. ITS JUST THE WAY ONE THINKS.WE THINK WHAT WE SEE, HEAR, READ AND WE SEE , HEAR AND READ WHAT WE THINK AND SUITS US.

  19. Your translation is wrong and you based everything on this. The correct verse is: “In praying, do not babble like the pagans..."

The issue being presented is not with repetitive prayer, it is with EMPTY repetitive prayer. If one reads a little bit further in Matthew’s gospel, we see that we are given the Lord’s Prayer and told, “Pray, then, in this way”. We are given the Lord’s Prayer to pray repeatedly!

So yes, Scripture does tell us that vain, meaningless repetition is not the type of prayer in which we should engage. The message is not, however, against repeating a prayer – in Matthew 26:44, we see that Jesus repeats himself in prayer: “He left them and withdrew again and prayed a third time, saying the same thing again.” Therefore, repeating a prayer is simply not against the Christian faith, it can’t be.
